Genealogy

Your genealogy is an account of your descent from an ancestor or ancestors. How far you can trace your genealogy back is usually determined by the availability of information. The amount of public information kept over time such as census records vary from country to country. Countries like the United Kingdom which retain census information and have historically left the collection of birth, deaths and marriage information to individual parishs are much easier to find out information from than in countries like New Zealand where census forms are destroyed after the statistical information collected from them is transcribed.
